Dr. Ronald L. Fisher is currently a Professor of Psychology at Florida International University, where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Memory, Cognitive Processes, and Applied Cognition for more than 40 years.

Professor Fisher has also taught Psychology at numerous Universities including:

•University of California (Los Angeles)
•University of Toronto (Canada)
•State University of New York (Cortland)
•Lakehead University (Ontario, Canada)

Dr. Fisher served as the Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Applied Research in Memory and Cognition and has served on the editorial boards of several academic journals. Dr. Fisher is best known for developing the Cognitive Interview (CI) technique to enhance witness recall and has conducted many training workshops on the CI with the FBI and with many American and foreign police departments including the UK and Israel.

Dr. Fisher served on the Planning and Technical Working Groups of the U.S. Department of Justice to develop national guidelines on collecting eyewitness evidence. Dr. Fisher has testified in several State and Federal cases about issues related to eyewitness memory.

Dr. Fisher received his Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology at Ohio State University, having received an M.A. in Experimental Psychology at Ohio State University, after receiving a B.A. in Psychology from Queens College (C.U.N.Y.).

Dr. Fisher’s published work and review in is widely respected and he has been call upon for his insight in his arm of expertise on numerous occasions.
